Larger driveways naturally cost more due to the increased materials and labor required. A straight, single-car driveway will be more affordable compared to a curved or double-width driveway.
TYPE OF CONCRETE FINISH
Plain concrete - The most affordable option at around $90 per square metre.
Coloured concrete - Great for matching the aesthetics of your property, typically costing between $110 to $140 per square metre.
Exposed aggregate - Offers a decorative look, costing approximately $120 to $150 per square metre.
Stamped concrete- Mimics the appearance of stone or brick, priced at $130 to $170 per square metre.
SITE PREPARATION
The condition of the site plays a major role in cost. If extensive excavation or levelling is needed, expect additional charges.
Factors such as poor soil, tree roots, or existing driveway removal can increase preparation costs.
REINFORCEMENT & THICKNESS
A thicker driveway with steel reinforcement is ideal for heavy vehicles and adds to the overall cost. Standard residential driveways are typically 100mm thick, but commercial-grade options may require more.
